Strength Within is the personal domain and online portfolio of Amber. It contains the results of her many creative endeavors into the world of graphic art, web design and photography. Her artwork is not available for use outside of Strength Within, however, if you would like to archive some pieces on another site, please ask for permission prior to archiving. All layouts are available for downloading, provided you adhere to the Terms Of Use. All other graphics are free for personal use, but please do not hotlink, archive on another site without my expressed permission, or pass my art off as your own. It's not only bad 'Netiquette--it's wrong.

With that said, have a look around and enjoy yourself!

Strength Within is the website formerly known as Precious-Illusion [dot] Com. After having that domain name for a few years, I decided that I had outgrown it and wanted something of my own. Strength Within was a phrase I came up with that reflects the kind of person I want to be. I want to find my own inner strength. The phrase seemed appropriate for a domain name as (in case you haven't noticed) all of my fansites feature strong, assertive women. I believe that strong, assertive female role models are especially essential in this world, as there are very few of them. And thus, strength-within.net was born on June 4th, 2005.

As stated earlier, Strength Within used to be Precious-Illusion [dot] Com, but even that site wasn't my first. P-I.C started in the summer of 2002 when Angelfire (the free webserver I was using) decided that 50MGs of space was way too much space for their members, so they cut everyone (including members that had been registered with them for two years--a.k.a. me) down to only 20MGs of space and put up four pop-up ads and one on-site ad on each site. Well, needless to say 20MGs was just not enough for me and all the flashing and popping ads were just pissing me off. So my mom, being the wonderful person she is, bought me my own domain ('cause I had no money and I was sort of underage at the time). And she's been renewing my service for the past four years as part of my (early) birthday present.

Precious-Illusion [dot] Com was named after the Alanis Morissette song that I best identified with at the time, "Precious Illusions." Unfortunately, precious-illusions.com was already taken when I went to register my domain name, so I changed the latter word from the plural form to singular. P-I.C wasn't my first choice of names, however. I wanted darkest-hour.com ('cause the only site I was running back then was the Dark Phoenix one of the same name), but because my mom was the one putting out the cash for it, she made me choose something "not so depressing and scary." ::rolls eyes:: But what can ya do when the parental unit is willing to pay for eveything, other than comply to their wishes and demands? So P-I.C it was...

So I guess what I'm trying to say is because of one little obsession with a certain comic book story arc, a whole domain and many other websites were born. 'Cause let's face it...if I didn't have my own domain with tons and tons of bandwidth and space, I prolly wouldn't have even bothered constructing these other sites or delving into the world of graphic artistry. Funny how one singular, insignificant moment can change the entire course of one's life, huh?
